It has been a year since the tragic stampede at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre during the release of Pushpa 2. The unfortunate incident claimed the life of a woman, Revathi, and left her son, Sri Teja, severely injured. The child has been undergoing continuous rehabilitation ever since.
Earlier today, several misleading reports surfaced on social media and certain web portals claiming that Sri Teja’s father, Bhaskar, was struggling to bear ongoing medical expenses and that Allu Arjun had allegedly not responded to their request for further support. Producer Bunny Vas, a close associate of Allu Arjun, promptly dismissed these rumours, stating that the actor has been fully supporting the family from day one.
Adding further clarity, senior producer Dil Raju appointed by the Telangana government as a mediator between the victim’s family and Allu Arjun personally met Bhaskar to assess the situation. He confirmed that Allu Arjun had already extended ₹2 crore in financial assistance, deposited under Sri Teja’s name, in addition to covering medical bills amounting to ₹70 lakh so far.
Dil Raju also explained that the monthly interest generated from the fixed deposit is being utilized for Sri Teja’s ongoing treatment and the family’s living expenses. Speaking to the media, Bhaskar acknowledged the support received and mentioned that he had sought additional assistance for extending his son’s rehabilitation period.
According to Dil Raju, Allu Arjun responded positively to the request and agreed to provide the required funds to continue Sri Teja’s treatment for the next six months to one year, ensuring the child’s complete recovery.
