Dhanush has begun shooting for his upcoming film D54, directed by Por Thozhil fame Vignesh Raja. The team launched the project with a formal pooja ceremony, confirming earlier buzz about this exciting collaboration. Vels Film International backs the film, and Ishari K Ganesh produces it. This new venture promises to deliver a gripping action thriller. The makers have also revealed the first look poster, which quickly grabbed attention online.

The first look poster shows Dhanush standing in front of a burning cotton field, with an intense and determined expression. The tagline on the poster reads, “Sometimes staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive.” This bold message sets the tone for a tense, survival-themed story. Vignesh Raja and Dhanush Team Up for the First Time
Dhanush and Vignesh Raja are working together for the first time. Vignesh earned praise for his gripping crime thriller Por Thozhil. He co-wrote D54 with Alfred Prakash, who also contributed to Por Thozhil. Together, they bring a sharp sense of suspense and emotional storytelling to the project, raising expectations among fans and critics.
Powerful Cast and Skilled Crew Join D54
Mamitha Baiju, best known for her performance in Premalu, plays the female lead opposite Dhanush. The film also features a talented supporting cast that includes Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, KS Ravikumar, Karunas, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Nitin Sathyaa, and Kushmitha.
GV Prakash Kumar composes the music for the film, continuing his successful partnership with Dhanush. Theni Eswar handles the cinematography, while Sreejith Sarang manages the editing to ensure dynamic visuals and fast-paced storytelling.
Dhanush Keeps Busy With a Full Slate of Projects
Dhanush last appeared in Kuberaa, a film directed by Sekhar Kammula, which earned positive feedback from both audiences and critics. He recently completed filming for Tere Ishk Mein. His upcoming projects include Idly Kadai, D55 with Rajkumar Periasamy, D56 with Mari Selvaraj, an untitled Ilaiyaraaja biopic by Arun Matheswaran, and Kalam, a biopic on APJ Abdul Kalam directed by Om Raut.
At the same time, his earlier hit Raanjhanaa, released in Tamil as Ambikapathy, will soon return to theatres, adding to the excitement surrounding Dhanush’s filmography.
