Dhanush & Kriti Sanon’s Tere Ishq Mein Crosses the ₹50 Crore Mark Despite Mixed Talk

Bollywood’s latest romantic drama Tere Ishq Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, managed to grab attention even before its release, thanks to its music and the buzz surrounding its soulful tracks. However, once the film hit theatres, the audience response turned out to be mixed. While some viewers felt the characters were slightly over-hyped and a few portions dragged longer than necessary, the film still leaves behind a warm emotional aftertaste.

Interestingly, the movie carries a certain nostalgic charm almost like an emotional successor to Raanjhanaa. This tone seems to have struck a chord with Gen Z audiences, who have connected with its mood, storytelling style, and old-school Bollywood feel. For many, it’s the kind of film you’d revisit on a relaxed weekend.

That said, Tere Ishq Mein is far from perfect. The music, which is typically a strong pillar of any romantic drama, doesn’t quite rise to expectations. The direction falters at moments, the casting feels just adequate, and uneven editing disrupts the flow at times. Still, the strength of the story and the depth in the dialogues manage to hold everything together, becoming the film’s biggest positives.

Despite the shortcomings, the movie has successfully crossed the ₹50 crore mark at the box office. Compared to other recent Bollywood releases like Gustaakh Ishq and De De Pyaar De 2, Dhanush’s film is performing noticeably better. With a reported budget of around ₹85 crore, trade analysts believe Tere Ishq Mein could comfortably achieve a ₹100–150 crore total when its theatrical, OTT, and satellite revenues are combined a respectable success for the producers.
