The month of August gave the audience a sleeper hit: ‘Committee Kurrollu’. Released amid low expectations, the film featuring newcomers made it big at the box office. ‘Double iSmart’ and ‘Mr. Bachchan’ couldn’t finish its box-office run. Then came ‘AAY’, which overcame its Independence Day weekend competitors with commendable comfort.
The commercial performance of ‘CK’ and ‘AAY’ gives hope to two small films hitting the cinemas this week: ‘Janaka Aithe Ganaka’ and ’35-Chinna Katha Kaadu’. The former is more popular because Dil Raju Productions is associated with it and it is getting a bigger release. Also, Suhas is a familiar actor in A and B centres.

On the other hand, ’35’ is targeting a niche audience segment. It is another matter that Suresh Productions and S Originals believe their film can be a sleeper hit of sorts.
Can the two new releases coming out this week beat the competition from ‘The Greatest Of All Time’, starring Thalapathy Vijay in a dual role?
