Bunny Vas Opens Up About Losses Incurred on Mithra Mandali

Mithra Mandali, which released during Diwali 2025, failed to make an impact at the box office and ended up as a commercial disappointment. The comedy-drama featured Priyadarshi, Rag Mayur, Prasad Behara, and Vishnu Oi in prominent roles, while popular content creator Niharika NM made her Tollywood debut as the female lead. Directed by Vijayender S, the film is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Distributor Bunny Vas, who released the film, recently spoke candidly about the setbacks faced by the project. In an interview, he revealed that the team suffered significant financial losses and reflected on where things went wrong. He shared that while watching the film in the editing room, he felt it was a decent product and believed it would connect with audiences, even if it wasn’t extraordinary.

However, the real challenge became evident once the film was screened in theatres. Bunny Vas admitted that the audience response was not what he had anticipated, especially during key comedy sequences. “There were moments where I expected laughter, but the theatres remained silent,” he said, adding that the losses amounted to nearly Rs. 6 crore.

He also revealed that due to personal sentiments, he couldn’t watch the final cut of the film before its release, as he had visited a temple during that time.

Mithra Mandali was produced by Kalyan Manthina, Bhanu Pratapa, and Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala, with music composed by RR Dhruvan.
