‘Buddy’ meets international standards of making: Allu Sirish

‘Buddy’, starring Allu Sirish as the hero, is arriving at the cinemas on August 2nd. Starring Gayathri Bharadwaj and newcomer Prisha Rajesh Singh as the heroines, the film is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja and Adhana Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green Films. In his latest interview, Sirish talked about the movie’s highlights.

The action-comedy is VFX-heavy. “About 3,000 CG shots went into mounting the spectacle. The perfect animation for the Buddy character demanded so much time from artists. Since director Sam Anton was uncompromising and wanted the film to meet international standards, delays were inevitable,” Sirish said.

Sirish assures that the film is not a remake of ‘Teddy’ (English). “The director assured me that the story would feel new. After listening to the story, I watched the Tamil version of ‘Teddy’ on OTT and found that while the concept of a teddy bear coming to life was similar, everything else in ‘Buddy’ is so unique. The conflict between the heroine and the villain, the hero’s characterization, and the justifications in the story are all well-scripted,” Sirish says.

The film features four major action sequences, each of which feels “natural”. Sirish thanks the action department for the same. To lend authenticity, an unused flight was acquired by the makers.
