Producer Confirms: Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Draws Inspiration from Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari

Tamil superstar and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s much-awaited swansong, Jana Nayagan (titled Jana Nayakudu in Telugu), has created massive buzz ahead of its theatrical release on July 23. Adding to the excitement, producer Venkat K Narayana has officially addressed the long-standing speculation surrounding the film’s connection to Nandamuri Balakrishna’s blockbuster Bhagavanth Kesari.

Speaking to the Telugu media, Venkat K Narayana confirmed that Jana Nayagan is inspired by Bhagavanth Kesari, but clarified that it is not a remake. According to him, the team only borrowed the core inspiration from Anil Ravipudi’s hit film while developing an entirely fresh story.

“Bhagavanth Kesari is a film that both Vijay sir and I admire immensely. We took inspiration from its essence and even discussed the idea with Anil Ravipudi garu. However, Jana Nayagan has a completely new story, a different world, and a fresh conflict. Audiences will experience a unique emotional journey on screen,” the producer said.

His clarification is expected to put an end to rumors that the film is a frame-by-frame remake. Instead, the makers promise a brand-new cinematic experience while retaining the emotional strength that made Bhagavanth Kesari a massive success.

During the interaction, Venkat K Narayana also opened up about his production house’s Telugu debut with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film, Mega158, directed by Bobby.

Expressing his admiration for the Megastar, he said, “I have been a huge fan of Chiranjeevi garu since my childhood. His films, journey, songs, and the messages in his cinema have always inspired me. I always wanted my first Telugu production to be with him, and I’m happy that dream has finally come true. Mega158 is shaping up wonderfully.”

With Jana Nayagan gearing up for release and Mega158 progressing steadily, Venkat K Narayana’s production banner is set for an exciting phase in both Tamil and Telugu cinema.

‘We Won’t March Again’: CJP Says It Won’t Risk More Injuries

India’s youth-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced that it will no longer organize marches after violent clashes with police during Monday’s protest in Delhi left scores of people injured. The group, however, clarified that its agitation against the government will continue through other forms of protest.

Thousands of protesters from Delhi and nearby regions had gathered to march toward Parliament, making it one of the biggest demonstrations challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government during its third term. The movement, which began as an online satire, has evolved into a large-scale youth campaign demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over examination paper leaks that affected more than two million students in May.

According to Delhi Police, nearly 180 people were injured during the clashes, including 118 police and security personnel and 60 protesters. Police also confirmed that 70 protesters were detained, and legal proceedings would be initiated against them.

On Tuesday morning, around 150–200 protesters assembled peacefully at Jantar Mantar despite light rain, while security remained tight across central Delhi with heavy police deployment and barricades.

Addressing the media, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said the organization decided to halt future marches to prevent more injuries. “We had to call off the protest because we did not want more youth to be injured. We will not march again because the police will hurt the youth again,” he said.

Dipke also claimed that more than 150 protesters were receiving treatment in hospitals, although that figure has not been independently verified.

Despite stepping away from street marches, the youth-led movement has signaled that its campaign will continue, keeping pressure on the government over the examination controversy while avoiding further confrontations with police.
