Anurag Kashyap Joins Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit as a Fearless Cop

Filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap is all set to play a fierce and unyielding cop in the upcoming action drama Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur. The film, being shot in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously, is directed by Shaneil Deo, marking his directorial debut.

Anurag Kashyap as a Fearless Inspector in Dacoit

Anurag Kashyap will portray Inspector Swamy, a devout Ayyappa follower who has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. His character balances duty and dharma, navigating the law with a sharp sense of humor. Kashyap, who has been involved in several South Indian films like Maharaja, Leo, and Viduthalai Part 2, is now making a powerful debut in Telugu cinema with Dacoit.

The first-look poster of Kashyap’s character was recently revealed, showing him in a striking Ayyappa mala, alongside a female cop, both exuding authority and intensity. Speaking about his role, Kashyap said he is thrilled to play the same character in two languages, ensuring equal impact in both.

Adivi Sesh’s Intense Role and Film’s Plot

Dacoit promises a gripping action-packed narrative. Adivi Sesh plays a rugged, intense character, stepping into a massive transformation from his previous roles. The story revolves around an angry convict seeking revenge on his ex-girlfriend, who betrayed him. He crafts a dangerous plan to trap her, leading to an intense battle of love, betrayal, and vengeance.

Mrunal Thakur Replaces Shruti Haasan

The film initially cast Shruti Haasan as the female lead, but she exited after shooting for a month due to creative differences. The makers then brought in Mrunal Thakur, who has already completed key portions of her role.

Production and Release Details

Dacoit is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, with Suniel Narang as co-producer and Annapurna Studios presenting the film. The team is currently filming in Hyderabad, with upcoming schedules set in Maharashtra. The movie’s music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.
