Anil Kapoor Joins Jr NTR–Prashanth Neel’s Dragon, Hints at Third Collaboration

Jr NTR fans have plenty to cheer about as 2026 promises to be a landmark year for the star. His highly anticipated collaboration with blockbuster director Prashanth Neel, tentatively titled Dragon, is currently underway and already creating strong buzz across industries.

Adding to the excitement, Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor has officially come on board the project in a key role. While reports about his casting had been doing the rounds for some time, Anil Kapoor himself put an end to the speculation by confirming his involvement through a recent Instagram Story. Details about his character, however, remain tightly under wraps.

Dragon marks Anil Kapoor’s second on-screen collaboration with Jr NTR after War 2. Interestingly, it is also his second film with a South Indian filmmaker, following his impactful appearance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal.

What has further caught attention is Anil Kapoor’s revelation that he and Jr NTR will be teaming up once again for another project, making it their third collaboration. Industry chatter suggests that this could be a standalone film set in the YRF Spy Universe featuring the Tollywood star, though no official confirmation has been made yet. More clarity is expected only after a formal announcement.

The film features Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead and boasts an ensemble cast of prominent actors, making it a true multilingual pan-Indian venture. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, Dragon has music composed by Ravi Basrur. The makers have locked June 25, 2026, as the film’s grand theatrical release date.
