Allu Arjun, the star of the blockbuster Pushpa : The Rule, was arrested by the police in Hyderabad in connection with a tragic stampede during the film’s premiere on December 4, 2024. The incident, which occurred at the Sandhya Theatre in RTC Crossroads, led to the death of a 39-year-old woman and left her son critically injured. The arrest came as a result of a case filed against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management for failing to manage the crowd properly.

The stampede took place during the highly anticipated premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Police stated that they had not been informed in advance about Allu Arjun’s arrival at the event, which resulted in a disorganized crowd. The situation worsened when the theatre did not have separate entries and exits for the actor and his team, ultimately leading to chaos and the stampede.

Allu Arjun’s Arrest and Police Detention
On Friday, Hyderabad Police officials, including members of the Police Commissioner’s Task Force and Chikkadapalli police, arrived at Allu Arjun’s residence to arrest him. The actor was detained at his home. Previously, Allu Arjun had approached the Telangana High Court to request that his name be removed from the FIR, but the case had not yet been heard by the court.
In a video that surfaced online, Allu Arjun can be seen expressing his frustration with the police during his detention. The actor is heard requesting that he be allowed to finish his breakfast and change his clothes before being taken into custody. Despite his objections, the police did not grant his request, creating a tense atmosphere at his home. Allu Arjun’s wife, Sneha Reddy, and father, Allu Aravind, were present during the incident.
