Akkineni Family’s Generous Gesture: Nagarjuna Donates ₹2 Crore to ANR College

The Akkineni family once again demonstrated its strong commitment to education and social welfare. Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni donated a generous sum of ₹2 crore to ANR College in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday. The contribution will be utilized to provide scholarships to students as part of the institution’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Nagarjuna attended the event as the chief guest and inaugurated a newly constructed building on the college campus. On the occasion, he fondly remembered his father, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), who had donated ₹1 lakh to the same college in 1959, highlighting the family’s long-standing association with the institution.

Addressing the gathering, Nagarjuna spoke about his father’s deep respect for education. He recalled that despite ANR not having access to formal education, he always believed in empowering future generations through learning and consistently supported educational initiatives.

The programme was attended by several dignitaries, including Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu. Established in 1950, ANR College expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nagarjuna and the Akkineni family for their continued support, stating that the donation would play a significant role in encouraging and assisting deserving students.
