Tollywood faced a major setback as the highly anticipated pan-Indian film Akhanda 2 – Thaandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Sreenu, was postponed indefinitely at the last minute. The unexpected delay has left Balayya’s fans disappointed, while many movie lovers expressed their frustration over the sudden change in plans.

The makers released an official statement saying, “With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you that Akhanda 2 will not be releasing as scheduled due to unavoidable circumstances. This is a painful moment for us, and we truly understand the disappointment it brings to every fan and movie lover awaiting the film. We are working tirelessly to resolve the matter at the earliest. The announcement triggered widespread reactions online. While some fans urged the team to address the pending issues quickly and aim for a release next Friday, others felt the delay could actually turn strategic. A section of the audience suggested pushing the film into the Sankranthi 2026 race for better box-office prospects. For now, the final decision rests entirely with the makers.

Akhanda 2 features Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinisetty, and several other prominent actors in key roles. The film is produced on a massive scale by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, with music composed by Thaman S. Notably, the team had even prepared a special 3D version for release, adding to the excitement.
