Vishwaksen is stepping into a new territory with #CULT, a dark thriller that promises a violent mix of survival, action, and suspense. The actor has not only taken the lead role but has also written and directed the film, making it an ambitious project in his career. With the theatrical release scheduled for October 30, the makers have now dropped the trailer, offering a glimpse into a dangerous world where survival comes at a deadly cost.
Set inside an isolated estate on an island in Goa, the film revolves around a group of people who find themselves trapped with seemingly no way out. Their survival depends on participating in a series of dangerous games, where every move could turn fatal. The arrival of DSP Sankalp Nayak adds another intriguing dimension to the narrative, hinting at a story filled with unpredictable confrontations and escalating violence.
Vishwaksen grabs attention with his intense screen presence, portraying a police officer who operates according to his own rules. His fierce attitude, explosive action, and well-timed humour provide a distinctive flavour to the character. The trailer suggests that the actor-director is aiming for a raw and uncompromising cinematic experience, with brutal confrontations and a dark narrative at its core.
On the technical front, Aravind Viswanathan’s cinematography creates an eerie atmosphere that complements the film’s violent setting. Ravi Basrur’s gripping background score heightens the tension, while Tharun Bhascker’s dialogues add sharpness to the action and humour. Together, these elements give the trailer an intense and unsettling tone.
Produced by Sandeep Kakarala under the Tarak Cinemas banner, #CULT is set for a simultaneous theatrical release in Telugu, Hindi, English, Japanese, and Spanish on October 30. The trailer has generated curiosity with its unusual premise and Vishwaksen’s fierce transformation. Whether the film can turn this promising setup into a gripping big-screen experience remains to be seen.
