The makers of Kaasu have unveiled the official glimpse of the much-awaited multilingual film, offering a fascinating mix of mythic horror, dark folklore, mystery and romance. Written and directed by P.S. Harshavardhan, the film is produced by Indu Kumar and Narendra Konda under the AKR Dream Pictures LLP banner.
Blood, Gold & A Monster From Hell
The glimpse opens with an eerie and atmospheric setup, as an owl flies through misty mountain roads while following a lone vehicle navigating the winding ghats. The visuals soon take a darker turn with unsettling imagery, blood-stained surroundings and frantic typewriter sequences carrying the warning “DANGER COMING.”
The glimpse then introduces a mysterious legend built around greed, blood and gold, with striking phrases such as “A Story Born From Blood,” “A Greed Coming From Hell” and “A Monster Made of Gold.” The tension reaches its peak with the reveal of a chained monstrous figure making its way down a staircase, while blood and gold coins cascade around it.
At the heart of the mystery is an antique gold medallion bearing mysterious inscriptions. The medallion transforms to reveal the title Kaasu, meaning coin or wealth, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, establishing the film as a multilingual project.
From Chilling Horror to a Golden Romance
Interestingly, the glimpse takes a complete tonal shift after establishing its terrifying world. The dark atmosphere gives way to beautiful landscapes, rain-washed hills and historic stone structures as Shree Nandu and Indu Kumar are introduced in a romantic setting.
A soothing acoustic track composed by Prashanth R Vihari adds warmth to the romantic portions. Described as “A Golden Love Story,” the film appears to bring together an emotional romance with a dangerous supernatural mystery, leaving viewers curious about how the love story connects to the ancient curse and the mysterious gold.
Narendra Konda Backs an Ambitious Multilingual Project
Producer Narendra Konda, along with Indu Kumar, is backing the project under AKR Dream Pictures LLP. The glimpse showcases an ambitious visual world that combines supernatural elements, mythology, romance and grand production design.
The film features Shree Nandu and Indu Kumar in the lead roles, with P.S. Harshavardhan handling both writing and direction. Shyam K. Naidu is the Director of Photography, while Srinivas Bainaboyina takes care of editing. The music is composed by Prashanth R Vihari, and Akhil (Akelexone) serves as the VFX Supervisor.
