For a long time, Thaman has been considered one of director Trivikram Srinivas’ most trusted collaborators. Their successful association began with Aravinda Sametha and continued through several major films, making them one of the strongest director-composer combinations in Telugu cinema.
Speculation about a change first surfaced when Trivikram initially brought in Animal fame Harshavardhan Rameshwar to compose music for Aadarsha Kutumbam, starring Venkatesh. Although Thaman was left out in the beginning, he eventually replaced Harshavardhan and returned to the project.
Addressing the brief setback, Thaman had earlier stated in an interview that he would instead be teaming up with Trivikram for the director’s ambitious mythological film, God of War, starring NTR. His comments strengthened the belief that the successful duo would continue their partnership.
Adding to the speculation, producer Naga Vamsi recently teased the announcement of the much-awaited project on social media, and Thaman even reposted the update, leading fans to assume he was part of the film.
However, the official announcement surprised everyone. The makers confirmed that Tamil music sensation Anirudh Ravichander will compose the soundtrack for God of War, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding Thaman’s involvement.
Interestingly, while Thaman had shared Naga Vamsi’s teaser post earlier, he has remained completely silent after Anirudh’s official announcement. He neither reposted the update nor reacted publicly, sparking discussions among fans on social media.
Whether Thaman’s silence is simply a personal choice or reflects disappointment remains unknown. For now, God of War marks the first time in years that Trivikram has opted for a different composer on one of his biggest projects, with Anirudh taking charge of the music for the highly anticipated NTR starrer.
