OTT Release Locked: Suriya’s Blockbuster ‘Karuppu’ Arrives on Prime Video This June 12

After a sensational run at the box office, Suriya’s blockbuster action drama Karuppu is gearing up for its digital premiere. Amazon Prime Video has officially announced that the film will begin streaming from June 12, bringing one of Tamil cinema’s biggest hits of the year to audiences worldwide.

Released in theatres on May 15, Karuppu overcame a delayed release caused by financial hurdles and went on to become the highest-grossing film of Suriya’s career. The movie enjoyed a remarkable theatrical run across Tamil Nadu, while its Telugu dubbed version, Veerabhadrudu, also received a positive response from audiences.

Confirming the OTT release date, Prime Video shared an announcement on social media, stating, “God mode ON. #KaruppuOnPrime, June 12.”

Viewers will be able to stream both the original Tamil version, Karuppu, and the Telugu dubbed version, Veerabhadrudu, separately on the platform. Additionally, the Tamil version will be available with dubbed audio options in Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, expanding its reach to a wider audience.

Directed by RJ Balaji, the film features Trisha as the female lead opposite Suriya. Backed by strong word-of-mouth and impressive theatrical success, Karuppu is expected to attract significant viewership on OTT as well, making it one of the most anticipated digital releases of the month.
