Recently, in a promo for Nayanthara's upcoming Netflix documentary, a brief clip from the movie's set was shown, prompting Dhanush to send a legal notice to Netflix for using the footage without his permission. He is seeking Rs 10 crores in damages. In response, Nayanthara released an open letter criticizing Dhanush's actions. She accused him of being "vengeful" and revealed that he had previously refused to grant permission for any musical footage from the film to be used in the documentary, despite repeated requests. Although the documentary refrained from using any copyrighted material, Dhanush also objected to even the set footage being included.
