Adipurush – Makers encounter Critics

As we all are aware of the fact that the recent Ramayana based theater film sensation “Adipurush” was released on 16th of June 2023. Fans are at a complete disappointment level with the VFX and the rate of the storyline. It was concurrently shot in Telugu and Hindi, and it was also shot in 3D.

Some of the causes for the film’s poor representation include Manoj Muntashir’s dialogue writing and terrible visual effects. Another flaw in the film was the dialogue, particularly that of Hanuman in the Lanka Dahan portion.

The screenwriter, Manoj Muntashir Shukla, justified the film, claiming that it was purposely shortened to depict some type of separation among several people. He also claimed that the discussion in the issue had previously been used in a similar manner by India’s most prominent saints and narrators, proving that he was not the original author of the interaction.

Adipurush received a 1.5/5 rating from Shubhra Gupta from The Indian Express, who criticised the narrative and aesthetics and labelled the film as “a series of clunky computer graphics, bathed in Bollywoodese.”

Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV, who regarded it as a “weird blend of fantasy and fallacy.”

Simon Abrams of RogerEbert.com went after the film’s narrative and aesthetics, stating “…it all looks cheap and uninspired.”

Adipurush was characterised as a “well-made entertainer with big-screen appeal” by Bollywood Hungama.

The Times of India’s Renuka Vyavahare rated the film three out of five stars, commenting, “This one’s a sincere attempt that gets a tad overwhelmed by its ambition of handling a story of this magnitude.”

Anindita Mukherjee for India Today wrote , “All in all, we can’t put a stamp on all the hype that Adipurush has been gathering, but it surely deserves one watch at the theatres. For Prabhas, if nothing else”.
