‘Baby’ producer SKN today said that there is a need for the Telugu film industry to attract new writing talents. The Tamil film industry, he said, has no paucity of writers.
“These days, writers want to become directors as soon as possible. As a result, there is a scarcity of writers. I, Sai Rajesh (director of ‘Baby’) and Bunny Vasu (the producer of films like ‘AAY’) are hunting for writers. You will be paid good remuneration for your services,” SKN said.
An impression has gained ground that writers have been exploited by directors and producers in the Telugu film industry, which is why they remain demoralized and unmotivated. In this context, producer SKN’s public announcement is welcome.
Already, a writers’ hub has been run by ‘HanuMan’ director Prasanth Varma under the label Scriptsville. Actor Navdeep’s C-Space has also been honing writers and pitching scripts to producers.
