‘Operation Raavan’ is about a psychotic person in a tricky situation: Rakshit Atluri

‘Operation Raavan’ is slated to arrive at the cinemas on July 26th (Friday). This simultaneous Telugu and Tamil release is directed by Venkata Satya. Rakshit Atluri plays the lead role.

In his latest interview, Rakshit reveals that the film’s central character turns out to be a psychotic person due to his unique circumstances. Inherently, though, he is nice. The film ostensibly explores a clash between two opposing ideologies

“Working under my father’s direction has been a unique experience. Not many get such an opportunity. I am grateful for it. To ensure that ‘Operation Raavan’ gets a wider reach, we have announced a special initiative where viewers who identify the character ‘Psycho’ in the film and message us on WhatsApp will receive a silver coin. I will personally give away the coins to winners in cities like Vijayawada and Vizag. We have already minted a thousand silver coins for this purpose,” the actor says.

Rakshit has performed all the stunts by himself. “I portray the character of Anand Sriram, a TV reporter, in the movie. I have always wanted to play a role that combines the traits of a hero and a villain. I injured myself while shooting for an action scene. I jumped onto a container during a bike sequence. I performed all the stunts myself,” he adds.

After ‘Palasa 1978’ and ‘Narakasura’, Rakshit has been seen as a serious actor who does only grim roles. “I am aware of this growing perception. While the fear of appearing typecast is there, I can confidently say that ‘Operation Raavan’ and ‘Sasivadane’ (his next release) will help me reinvent myself,” he adds.
