The teaser for L2: Empuraan, the highly anticipated sequel to the Malayalam blockbuster Lucifer, was unveiled on January 26 at a grand event in Kochi. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film stars Mohanlal as Stephen Nedumbally, also known as Abraam Khureshi. The movie is set for a grand release on March 27, 2025, in five languages.
An Action-Packed Teaser
The teaser, lasting two minutes and twenty-three seconds, delivers breathtaking action and hints at a gripping storyline. Mohanlal’s portrayal of a man caught between good and evil dominates the teaser. The visuals highlight Stephen Nedumbally’s dual identity and tease the political and action-packed elements of the story.
Tovino Thomas’s character, Jathin Ramdas, makes a significant opening appearance, setting the stage for the sequel. Prithviraj’s Zayed Masood appears toward the end, adding intrigue. Manju Warrier’s role remains mysterious, as the teaser provides only a fleeting glimpse of her character.

The teaser release coincided with the 25th anniversary celebration of Aashirvad Cinemas, the film’s production banner. The event was attended by Malayalam cinema icons, including Mammootty, who shared warm wishes for the film.
Mohanlal’s wife, Suchitra, reflected on the significance of January 26 for their family and the production house. Producer Antony Perumbavoor expressed gratitude for the support the banner has received over the years.
