Director S. Shankar’s much-anticipated film Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, is facing challenges in Tamil Nadu. Lyca Productions has approached the Tamil Film Producers Council, demanding the film’s release be blocked until Shankar completes his pending project, Indian 3.
The Conflict Between Lyca Productions and S. Shankar
Shankar’s previous film, Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan, faced multiple delays and failed at the box office. Despite this, Shankar and Lyca agreed to collaborate on Indian 3. However, Lyca is unhappy with Shankar prioritizing Game Changer over completing their project.
While only a song and patchwork remain for Indian 3, Lyca insists Shankar should focus on finishing it before moving forward. Their dissatisfaction stems from delays in production, coupled with financial losses from Indian 2.
Game Changer Team Responds
Sources from Game Changer’s team confirmed the issue but expressed optimism about resolving it soon. Shankar has assured Lyca that he will complete Indian 3 after Game Changer releases on January 10, 2025.

Why Lyca’s Demand Is Controversial
Industry experts believe Lyca’s demand could harm both projects. Game Changer’s success is seen as crucial for building interest in Indian 3. Blocking its release may create unnecessary friction and financial risk for both parties. Critics argue that Lyca’s approach might alienate distributors and audiences, further complicating the situation.
The Stakes Are High
As Shankar’s first Telugu film, Game Changer is critical for his reputation and career. Simultaneously, Indian 3 depends on Game Changer’s success to generate excitement and confidence among distributors. Finding a resolution is essential to avoid jeopardizing both films.
Lyca Productions has yet to release an official statement, leaving fans and the industry awaiting updates. For now, the fate of Game Changer in Tamil Nadu hangs in the balance.
