Young and talented director Tarun Bhaskar Dasyam, who has received all the accolades with the blockbuster hits ‘Pelli Chooplu’ and ‘Ee Nagariki Eye Medy’, is coming up with his third film, a unique crime comedy movie ‘Keeda Kola’. This film is being made as production number 1 under the VG Cinema banner and is being produced by K. Vivek Sudhanshu, Saikrishna Gadwal, Srinivas Kaushik, and Sripad. The trailer of this film presented by hero Rana Daggubati has raised the expectations of the film. Keeda Cola is slated to release worldwide on November 3, and actor Chaitanya Rao Madadi, who is playing a major role in the film, shared the details of the film in a press conference.
What was your reaction when director Tarun Bhaskar came up with the idea of Keeda Cola?
Tarun Bhaskar is my dream director. His stories and the actors he chooses for his roles are very diverse and close to real life. I have always wanted to work with him. Producer Sai called for this movie. Then I met Tarun. They gave me a script and told me to read it. I read Liked it a lot. I thought it would have been better if Vastu’s role was included in it. He was asked to do exactly that role. But that character has ‘Tourette Syndrome’. Stuttering words, pausing between words… This is a role that needs some practice. I asked for some time to practice. After three days I went and auditioned. After seeing the audition, Tarun introduced them to the team saying, ‘We have found Vastu’. That moment gave me so much joy.
What exercises did Tarun Bhaskar do to get used to the natural style?
Tarun talked in detail about the character. I also tried to make the character very natural. Both of us gelled well. Tarun’s story elevates the actors. Each role in his film is important. Even an actor who speaks a single dialogue gets the name he deserves. He knows how to get performances from actors. They get what they want by telling each other in a style that makes sense. It is very easy for actors to work with him.
How do you see Tarun Bhaskar as an actor?
Tarun Bhaskar is a very good actor. As a person, he is a very gentle man. If there is sensitivity, it will automatically show in acting. The response to every feeling and emotion is seen in acting. That is the reason why his acting is like real life.
How was working with Brahmanandam?
The legend of Brahmanandam. He is a running university. His grandfather played a role in this. I learned many things from him. They were very friendly with us. Gave a lot of comfort zone. Getting an opportunity to act with a legend like Brahmanandam is a good learning experience for an upcoming actor like me.
Have you seen a character like Vastu in real life?
People suffering from ‘Tourette syndrome’ are not seen much around us. However, we see some people with symptoms like sudden stopping of speaking and slight stuttering. The full name of Vastu in this is Varyat. Since he cannot pronounce his name, he calls it Vastu in short cut. He changes many words like that. There is no need to worry about having a problem. It is inherent in this role that they can live a normal life like everyone else.
I watched some Hollywood movies and videos as a reference to do this role. They helped a lot. Everyone in the team is very happy along with Tarun on the role of Vastu. Vastu Patra coming from the Tarun Bhaskar brand will definitely stand out as a special attraction. All the characters are different. The technical brilliance seen in Hollywood movies is seen.
How does Keeda Kola feel after the Dussehra season?
His fans and audience have been waiting for Tarun Bhaskar’s film for five years. There are many expectations of what kind of movie he is coming with. Keeda Cola is a different content movie. The movie is coming on November 3. Got a solo date. November of laughter is going to start with Keeda Cola.
Can the aspirants who are currently trying to become an actor take inspiration from you and your journey?
Take my journey as inspiration. Right opportunities did not come after coming from Australia. It felt like all avenues were closed. At such a time 30 Weds 21 brought fame at once. It got a very good reputation. Everyone remembers him as an actor. The break is OTT, movie, YouTube, social media reel etc. He can come from anywhere. But it is important to be consistent in this journey.
With Keeda Cola you are going for maximum reach as well as critics. How do you feel ?
We improve as an actor only when there is good criticism. If we point out our shortcomings, then we will improve for the film. Constructive criticism is good.
How was Tarun Bhaskar on the sets?
Tarun is very fun on the sets. Be friendly with everyone. confidence is given to all. He is also an actor. He knows that if an actor is given any encouragement, he will do better. He is a very sensitive person.
