Annapurna Studios Launches India’s First Dolby-Certified Post-Production Facility for Films

Annapurna Studios, a prominent name in Indian cinema, has launched India’s first Dolby-certified post-production facility for both cinema and home entertainment. This state-of-the-art facility, located in Hyderabad, marks a significant milestone in Indian filmmaking. It was inaugurated by acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli, director of RRR, and actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, Vice Chairman of Annapurna Studios.

A Game-Changer for Indian Cinema

The new facility, developed in collaboration with Dolby, is designed to bring Indian films closer to global audio-visual standards. Rajamouli, sharing his experiences with Dolby during the production of RRR, said, “When we worked on RRR, we had to travel to Germany for Dolby Vision grading. Now, Indian filmmakers can access this technology right here.”

Nagarjuna expressed pride in the studio’s 50-year legacy of innovation. “From pioneering virtual production to establishing this Dolby-certified facility, our mission has always been to elevate Indian films on the global stage. This collaboration is another step forward in our journey to embrace cutting-edge technology,” he said.

The launch also featured exclusive screenings of scenes from RRR in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, showcasing the immersive experience the technology offers. This facility aims to empower filmmakers with tools to craft stories with unmatched clarity and impact.
