‘Pakka Commercial’, ‘Rama Banam’ and ‘Bhimaa’. And now, ‘Viswam’. We are talking about the four continuous flops in Gopichand’s sputtering career. In 2021, ‘Aaradugula Bullet’, directed by B Gopal, had a delayed release and it sank at the box office without a trace. So, if you consider this film as well, Gopichand has had five flops in a row. Yes, ‘Viswam’ is yet to be given a verdict by the box office, but we know what is going to happen, don’t we?
Gopichand’s choices have been down in the dumps in the post-pandemic era. He has been stuck with action films and outdated comedies in turns. Maruthi’s ‘Pakka Commercial’ should have ideally breathed life into his career. But it didn’t win the audience’s love.
‘Viswam’ is co-produced by People Media Factory’s TG Vishwa Prasad, who also produced ‘Rama Banam’. It is rumoured that Vishwa Prasad lost heavily on ‘Rama Banam’. ‘Viswam’, in all probability, is a double whammy for the banner.
