‘Hanu-Man’ is the first Indian original superhero movie from creative director Prashant Varma’s cinematic universe. This magnum opus starring Teja Sajja in the lead has created a craze at the global level with the teaser, songs and trailer tremendous response. While K Niranjan Reddy is ambitiously producing this film on Primeshow Entertainment, Mrs. Chaitanya is presenting it. It will have a grand release worldwide on January 12 as a gift for Hanuman Sankranti. In this context, film producer K Niranjan Reddy shared the special features of Hanuman in a press conference.
Is this your first film as a producer? How is this experience?
Very happy. I am happy to make my first film on such a grand scale and Sankranti is coming. Hanuman.. A superhero genre movie with socio fantasy elements. Anjaneya Swamy Chiranjeevi. We believe that he is still doing penance in the Himalayas. Hanuman is our real, universal superhero. When you come out after watching this movie, you will be filled with how you want to see Anjaneya Swami. All the audience will feel very happy after watching the movie.
We heard that Hanuman’s budget is higher than the previous estimate?
Yes.. it has increased five to six times.
What is the content that gave it so much popularity?
Director Prashant Verma Vision. This story is appealing to the global audience when it is told. Our Indian cinema does not have a franchise like Marvel DC. So we decided to have a franchise. We did it with the belief that it will be big. True to our belief, the business has also been excellent. 20 crore in Telugu states only theatrically. This is a huge number for our star cast. A very good business was done in overseas, Karnataka, North India as well as non-theatrical. Our belief in content has come true today.
Sankranti has about seven or eight movies, right? How will this competition affect the film?
We are confident of success till Hanuman project. We are not looking for the first days like every movie. It is a very long running film. If the content is good, it will have a long run. The movies Baby and Balagam prove this. Our film is also a long running film.
When did you feel that Hanuman would be a global success?
After the release of the teaser, there was an extraordinary response. Not a single negative comment was received. Achieving such a feat is rare in this digital age. That’s when I was convinced that it would be a global success. We have decided to provide everything this content needs without any compromise.
Will there be your participation in the upcoming movies in Prashanth Varma’s cinematic universe?
One hundred percent. I told this to Prashant too. But we have to see what his plans are.
What is your family background?
My father is a retired government employee. Ours is Nalgonda. But I was born and brought up in Hyderabad. I don’t have any film background. I came into this field with passion for cinema. ‘Hanuman’ made with a lot of passion will surely be loved by the audience. All future films from our banner will be content based. I entered the industry with the aim of being in the field of film production for 25 years.
How are the promotions in Bollywood?
Very good. The trailer and teaser are getting huge response from the audience. We are doing a very big release in around 200 screens. There is a very big run in Bollywood.
What about VFX?
Hanuman VFX quality is amazing. The VFX output is as per Prashant Verma’s vision. Everything spent is visible on the screen.
Is Chiranjeevi in Hanuman or not?
That’s a surprise. How many surprises there are in the film can be seen on the screen (laughs) Chiranjeevi is coming to the pre-release event.
About Ravi Teja’s voice over?
It has a surprise role called Koti. Ravi Teja said the voice over. Ravi Teja should be thanked for this. It is a great thing to support this competition even from his movie. The industry expects such healthy competition.
How will Hanuman be?
The trailer of Hanuman was amazing to everyone. The movie is ten times more amazing than the trailer. One hundred percent of the audience will like it.
Amrita Iyer and Varalakshmi’s roles will be like?
Amrita Iyer and Varalakshmi’s characters are very strong in the story. Audience will definitely connect with those characters.
It is heard that the theaters are not suitable for the Hanuman buzz?
We worked hard for this film for almost three years. Every promotional content we have released has received an amazing response. The audience is eagerly waiting for the movie. Audience also wants to watch the Sankranti movie with family. It is our desire to consider Hanuman as a special film and give support accordingly. When four films are coming out, our request is to allocate theaters for the film according to the scale and buzz.
